This series of posts outlines one of my more technical projects to date. I attempt to solve a puzzle using two approaches. My goal is to optimize my custom approach until it can consistently outperform the more traditional approach on a variety of data sets. I anticipate this will require a rather long explanation so this project will come in parts.

While working to create The Russo Block using NuxtJS I struggled over errors and configuration mishaps that delayed progress and took some of the fun out of developing my own website. I figured it would be worthwhile to share some solutions and tricks I discovered and if nothing else to document my solutions for my future self.

It surprising to think that this website of mine has been such a long project and required so much of myself, especially considering this most recent (and definitely final) version of The Russo Block only took about two weeks to create. For close to two years The Russo Block has been my perpetual pet project in what felt like a never-ending cycle of development, deferral, and subsequent forgetfulness.

I'd like to introduce you all to Dorito. Dorito is a male short haired black and tan tabby cat with a big appetite and an even bigger heart. He enjoys cuddling, playing with cat wands, chasing his fellow foster cats, and napping on laps. Unfortunately, he is rather jumpy around humans and tends to hiss and run off if someone surprises him.
